Who we are
Interstate Inventory is operated by Joseph Childs, doing business as JC Media (Joey Childs Media) (“we”, “us”). Contact: joey@joeychildsmedia.com.
The service
Interstate Inventory is a professional tool for documenting household-goods moving shipments. It lets moving crews capture items by LiDAR scan, photo, catalog selection, or dictation; record pre-existing damage; and produce a signed inventory document.
Eligibility and professional use
The app is intended solely for use by moving professionals in the course of their work. You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to act for the company on whose behalf you use the app. You are responsible for complying with all laws and regulations that apply to your moving business.
Your account and company workspace
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Company workspaces are shared: if you invite crew members or share a crew code, you are responsible for who you give access to and for their use of the app. You must not share, sell, or transfer your account, and you must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
Intellectual property
The app and everything in it — including its software, source code, design, user interface, look and feel, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, item catalogs, size and weight data, condition-code systems, AI prompts and workflows, and all related intellectual property — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other laws.
We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms. Nothing in these Terms transfers to you any ownership of, or intellectual-property right in, the app. You may not use our name, logos, or trademarks without our prior written permission.
License and restrictions
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to use the app for your internal professional moving business. This license ends automatically if you breach these Terms or when your access is terminated.
You must not, and must not permit anyone else to:
- copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the app or any part of it;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code, structure, or underlying ideas of the app, except to the limited extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, distribute, or otherwise make the app available to any third party;
- remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary or legal notices;
- scrape, harvest, or extract data or content from the app by any automated or manual means;
- use the app, or any data, output, or know-how from it, to build, train, or improve any competing or similar product or service.
Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, or feedback about the app, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, incorporate, and commercialize that feedback without any obligation or compensation to you.
Your responsibility for inventory accuracy
The inventories, item records, and pre-existing-damage notations you create with the app may be signed, exported, and relied on as official records of a shipment. You are solely responsible for reviewing and confirming the accuracy and completeness of every inventory, item, quantity, and damage notation before you sign, export, or otherwise rely on it. We are not responsible for errors, omissions, or disputes arising from the content you record.
AI-assisted suggestions
When AI analysis is enabled, the app may send item and room photos and scan data to a third-party AI service to suggest item names, categories, sizes, and visible pre-existing damage. These suggestions are advisory only, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and are not a substitute for your own inspection and professional judgment. You must review and confirm every suggestion before it is recorded. AI analysis can be turned off in Settings.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose, or in violation of these Terms;
- access, use, or attempt to access another company’s account, workspace, or data;
- upload content you do not have the right to use, or that infringes, misappropriates, or violates the rights of others;
- circumvent, disable, or interfere with security, authentication, or access-control features;
- use bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access the app, or introduce any malware, virus, or harmful code;
- impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation;
- interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on the service or its infrastructure.
Your content
You retain ownership of the inventory content, photos, scans, and other data you create (“Your Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, transmit, and sync Your Content solely to operate and provide the service to you. You are responsible for Your Content and for having all rights necessary to provide it.
Privacy
Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how it is used and shared.
Fees
Access to some features may require a paid subscription or other fees. Any applicable fees, billing, and cancellation terms will be presented to you before purchase. Except as required by law, fees are non-refundable.
Suspension, termination, and account deletion
We may suspend, disable, delete, or permanently ban your account or your company’s workspace, and remove any content, at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice, and at our sole discretion.
We are not liable to you or to anyone else for any suspension, termination, ban, or resulting loss of access or data, and we are under no obligation to retain, return, or provide a copy of your data after termination. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. Any provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
Service availability and changes
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any feature at any time. Syncing and cloud features depend on internet connectivity and third-party providers, and may be interrupted.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any suggestion it produces is accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any and all claims relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us and our owners, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the app, Your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
Equitable relief
You acknowledge that any breach of the intellectual-property, license, or acceptable-use provisions of these Terms may cause us irreparable harm for which monetary damages are inadequate, and that we are entitled to seek injunctive or other equitable relief, without the need to post a bond, in addition to any other remedy available to us.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the app and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them freely. There are no third-party beneficiaries to these Terms.
